RogerDs' Rodeo page...

Murrey Dette is one of lifes everyday battlers... At the moment Murrey spends four-days-a-week in physiotherapy at the Laura Ferusson Gymnasium for Disabled persons. This is situated in Greenlane, on the outskirts of Auckland and is attached to the Laura Fergusson Home for Disabled Persons. This is as a result of Murreys' unfortunate dice with death in 1996. At Meeanee, (just out of Napier), competing in a Rodeo, Murrey by accident became entangled in his saddle gear and as a result was kicked in the head by a stray hoof. Murrey lay in a coma for five weeks. During this time it was not known whether or not he would recover conciousness. Because the kick was to the communication-part-of-the -head Murrey suffers from an inability to communicate by speech. However he is, to put it plainly, a "bright spark"and very quick to joke. Personally, I have only known Murrey a short while but, from what I can gather, I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't see Murrey back on a "horse". Recently, Murrey tried his hardest to do himself away in a car accident. Fortunately, he lives to fight another day but unfortunately, his car will need extensive repairs before it is again allowed on the road. Murrey emerged from the accident none the worse for wear, suffering two black eyes among other injuries. For a Frenchman, Murrey, you have the luck of the "Irish"...
